Why I like the song sekele (circle) by pro kid from South Africa. The song has a very up tempo beat that makes you do the sekele dance where your lean forward with sway and swing from left to right . Pro kid is extremely rude but in a truthful way like in the line 18 and 19 where he says “ Ng'yabona bayang'-robber mang' check' iscore line, Bang' sabotager batheng' ureferee but it's alright,” which means the ways township boys rob the bank but its all right . Like when you foul in a match but the referee says that it is okay. In South Africa the crime rate is high and 50% of the time criminals get away with it , even if they get caught there will always be someone working on the inside eventually you will get away with it just like if you foul someone and the don’t get a penalty . ‘Vulan' isekele ’ the first line of the Corus means open the circle (when dancing). “Abeze la sibenzele, daai ding net so, the whole daaaay” , you know we will be parting the whole day. It’s a song that starts playing and every one stands up and starts doing the sekele . A very rude but truthful song that he raps to what ever he wants to say and gets away with it.

The Interlude (WW1)
Here we go again
March! March 1 march 1
Into some village
Where everything is crushed
The pain in my feet
The water in my socks
All I'm waiting for
Is the morning cocks
The morning arrives
We pass houses with women and children inside
The look at us as if we are so strange
But what can I say we live in a cage
My friend and I go into a house
A grandma and grandpa welcome us
We go in side and just walk pass
I take my shoes and socks off
Trench foot they say
They look like if flesh
Just faded away
“My poor thing “she says
And bandages my legs
With oil and water
I feel like such an egg
She says she has two sons
Like my friend and I
She shows me upstairs
And says the woman is mine
Packages are delivered
Which means someone is dead
Or just injured
Maybe that the one instead
She acts like a mother to us
We act like her sons
Like family
We complete the uncompleted ones
She tells us stories about her sons
Her husband agrees
We think about them
Like the forgotten ones
New recruits arrive
Were not the new ones now
And when we look at them
They take a bowl
We do drills again
2 hours a day
We become stronger
In the ground as we lay
I get 2 new chevrons
My friend becomes an officer
We still stay close
And make each other stronger
A month goes by
We finally move on
And I promise my new mother
Than I would keep my feet strong
She gives me food
And a kiss on my cheek
We are surrounded by new soldiers
They are just full of defeat
We just sit there and smile

These hands were made for hugging
‘These hands were made for hugging’ is about the day I hugged my friend Rumbi the first time. In this story there are a lot of immature thing that happen but that’s just how we both are. I thing childishness in my story is very important because it shows our personality and how we click
We are both very stubborn people who don’t ever want to admit that they are wrong and always want to be the right ones. We both meet in Grade 8 in South Africa when we both went to that same school together but we weren’t that close because she was a loud person and I was the quiet one. So I guess you can say opposites attract. We became closer in grade 9 when she forced me to be her friend. Day to day we would fight people always use to say that we are like a 50 years married couple. So one random day Rumbi said to me: ‘You know what Irene we have never hugged ‘everyone was like yeah that’s true and then I jumped UP and ran away. She always promised me that she would hug me on the last day of school, before I go to Canada and that we were going to wit for that special moment. I always imagined that day as the saddest say of my life and how I would burst out in tears .Until one day, it was athletics day in our school and I begged her to run for our house and she came 3rd, 3rd in my school was a big thing if you were black. I could not help but to run and jump on her because she really tried her best. And then she just gave me this eye like what on earth was I doing, she really did not understand, maybe it was because she was tired. I guess this just shows how much love we share for each other even though we don’t hug too often. And unfortunately on the last day of school she wasn’t even there she went home 2 days before, so I never really got that special feeling.
An that is why I think I hug people so much in my new school, I don’t have the same love I shared with Rumbi for them. And that why if you ever need a hug, my hands were made for hugging
Why I like it!
Why I like the song Victory lap by Aka
First of all I bet your probably wondering what type of artist would call himself “Aka” (also known as), but you know that’s just how us South Africans do.
Anyone could have written a song and then gotten a guy to video tap him miming it as he walks down the street, but it's not just any guy it Aka . The first time I meet him was at a performance in SA I did not know him and I didn’t really care about him , but people were singing along to his songs. The day I saw him on TV and I said to my self:"this guy is actually famous ", researched him and started listening to his songs. His got his own swag (style) happening which I really like. And I love the way the lyrics rhyme and make sense most rappers lyrics only rhyme and the way he shows off the beautiful streets of Johannesburg ,it makes me proud to be a South African
And that’s why I like the music video and song Victory lap by Aka
